There's no stretch in the fabric but comfortably fastens over a light top up to the measurements given. If you would like to wear over a thicker top &/or you are at the maximum measurements at each point, or are fuller around the middle, it's best to buy the next size up. The waist can also be pulled in by up to 3 inches with the back corset lacing

100% cotton outer with satin ribbon lacing & polyester satin lining ~ machine washable

These are truly fabulous jackets, sooo unusual and you couldn't get more Victorian Gothic if you tried!!
